^Antenatal parenting group Train the Trainer

Training

To book a 'closed' training just for your team, please ring 0121 296 4448 or email solihull.approach@uhb.nhs.uk and we will create a bespoke order form for you. For individuals, please go to 'Book an individual training place'.

This 1 day training is to train delegates so that they can train facilitators of the Antenatal Parenting group.

Delegates must have previously attended: 2 Day Foundation training AND Parenting Group Facilitators’ training AND have facilitated at least one Solihull Approach parenting group.

This training day is for practitioners who wish to cascade, as part of their work, the Antenatal Parenting Group Facilitators’ training to other local practitioners, so that those practitioners can facilitate the 5-week antenatal parenting group ‘Journey to Parenthood: Understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby’.

If you have already completed the 1 day training on training Solihull Approach group facilitators then you do not need to do this specific training. The Parenting Train the Trainer, equips you to train facilitators to run the Antenatal Parenting group. Just make sure you have the right Trainer’s Manual!

Each facilitator will need a Trainers’ Manual to support delivery of the cascade training. The Trainers’ Manual includes information about delivering each session and practical guidance for trainers, as well as handouts, etc.

When delivering training the trainers are responsible for:

Ensuring that those delegates they train have previously attended the 2 Day Foundation training and can provide the dates, location and trainers’ names of that training
Providing the Solihull Approach office with the dates and location of the Antenatal Parenting Group Facilitators’ training and the names of those attending
Ensuring that those they train to be facilitators have their own copy of the Antenatal Parenting Group Facilitators’ Manual
Making facilitators aware of the need to provide data returns on their groups on this website
